Athens Community
The UGA Entrepreneurship Program is a collaborative entrepreneurship initiative between The University of Georgia and our community.

Our goal is to develop the entrepreneurial spirit of the students at UGA.

True to UGA's commitment of excellence, our events and programs empower the next generation of innovative leaders.
In May 2019, Four Athens and Athensmade, two local nonprofits serving entrepreneurs in Athens, Georgia, merged to create a greater umbrella organization to better connect, educate, and amplify all entrepreneurs in our local community.
Today, Athensmade combines the tech and high-growth resources of Four Athens, founded in 2011, with the creative entrepreneurship and small business resources of Athensmade, founded in 2015, to accelerate entrepreneurship in Athens, Georgia.
Innovation Gateway works with startups and entrepreneurs based upon UGA developed research and recruited companies with research and technology ties to the University of Georgia.
Conveniently located on UGA’s Athens campus, the Innovation Gateway enables startups and entrepreneurs to accelerate their early growth through access to space, state-of-the-art equipment and support services.

Innovation Gateway programs encourage the commercialization of UGA faculty, staff, and student discoveries in the fields of medicine, agriculture, bioinformatics and environmental science.

The academic competitiveness of UGA is enhanced by an increase in Industry/University collaboration and student research and employment opportunities.
Innovation Gateway provides an economic stimulus to the Northeast Georgia region as companies provide jobs and solve unmet community needs by translating University research into products and services.
